Axios // What’s Next Summit

  • For two years in a row, we worked directly with the Axios internal design team to build out event identities, the main stage presentation, digital signage, and print assets for their annual What’s Next Summit.

We transformed the venue into a future-forward wonderland. Highlights include: two augmented reality (AR) vingettes, glow-in-the-dark cocktails, conveyor belt catering, and of course, a cookie-delivering robot.

art direction • event identity • experiential design • animation direction • AR design

  • I was responsible for activation conceptualization, art direction, and design the first year of this project. I worked under a creative director to help manage freelancers and vendors to ensure our vision came to life.

The second year I spearheaded presentation design, floor plan layout, wayfinding, and event branding. I worked directly with the client’s design team on the presentation design, ensuring version control, brand adherence, and last minute updates.

Scanning a QR code revealed an AR experience for guests. Static scenes came to life to help them envision What’s Next for the future of smart homes and transit.

The following year, we leaned into the networking aspect of the summit, by cultivating spaces where a DC audience could socialize naturally.

Activations included a custom coffee bar, “Connect Quick” lounge, and rapid-fire wifi.
